Biographical Poem 'Lachit (The Warrior)' by Parthasarathi Mahanta Released on Bir Lachit Divas

GUWAHATI: The poem titled Lachit (The Warrior), based on the life of the greatest military General, Lachit Barphukan, composed by Parthasarathi Mahanta, a police officer and writer-litterateur has been formally released today. The audio-visual production of the poem was launched by Padmashree Jogendranath Phukan and Commissioner of Police, Harmeet Singh on the glorious occasion of Bir Lachit Divas, organized by Tai Ahom Yuva Parishad at the Madhabdev Auditorium, Srimanta Sankardev Kalakshetra.
The concept, planning and direction of the audio-visual presentation of the poem have been done by Parthasarathi Mahanta, narrated by Dr Amar Jyoti Choudhury and the background music has been composed by Rupam Talukdar. The creative director of the video is Anupam Mahanta. The programme was attended by Chounamen, Deputy Chief Minister of Arunachal Pradesh, army jawans of the 51 Sub-Area of the Indian Army, Narangi Cantonment and avid fans of Mahavir Lachit. The poem is a biographical one in its essence, which recounts the life of Lachit Barphukan, his meticulous tactics of warfare as a commander, his dexterity and wisdom in controlling and managing the army.
