Bir Lachit Sena leader Shrinkhal Chaliha arrested under National Security Act (NSA)

SIVASAGAR: Bir Lachit Sena leader Shrinkhal Chaliha was arrested again by the Sivasagar Police near the gate of Sivasagar District Jail immediately after his release on Wednesday.

A video of Shrinkhal Chaliha that went viral on social media platforms showed he was allegedly abusing and spitting on the face of a businessman in Sivasagar. The incident sparked outrage on social media and an FIR was lodged by the businessman, prompting the Sivasagar Police to take action. Chaliha was arrested on Tuesday in connection with a case of extortion and abuse. He was granted bail in the evening.

While coming out of the jail on Wednesday, police arrested Chalia again. According to police sources, Chaliha was arrested again on charges under the National Security Act (NSA).
