Biswanath College conducts national webinar on gendered space

JAMUGURIHAT: A national webinar on 'The International as a Gendered space: A conversation' was organized by the Department of History, Biswanath College on Monday. It was organized in collaboration with the IQAC cell of Biswanth College. The webinar was a part of the diamond jubilee celebration programme of the college. Dr Chinta Moni Sharma, Principal of Biswanath College, inaugurated the webinar and spoke about the importance of the topic. The webinar was conducted by Prof. Bandana Gogoi, coordinator of the webinar.

The resource person of the webinar was Dr. Rina Kashyap, Associate Professor of the Department of Political Science of Lady Shri Ram College, who threw vivid light on the 'International' as a gendered space topic. She also mentioned gender mainstreaming or co-option of gender in international organizations. Her thought-provoking and insightful speech enlightened more than 150 participants across the country.

Cisco WebEx was the online platform of the webinar and the webinar was technically supported by Prof. Debashis Sharma and Prof. Lalit Baruah. After the resource person's presentation, there was interaction between the participants and resource person.
