BISWANATH CHARIALI: A good number of social organizations of Biswanath Chariali have opposed the transfer order of Dhruva Jyoti Das, the present Deputy Commissioner of Biswanath district, and requested the Chief Minister to provide him opportunity to serve in the district for some more time.

In a joint memorandum submitted to the Chief Minister through the MLA of Biswanath, Pramod Borthakur on Tuesday, Biswanath Chariali Nagarik Santha, Biswanath Chariali Senior Citizens' Association, Biswanath Chariali Karmachari Parishad, Biswanath Chariali Sahitya Sabha, Biswanath Chariali Chambers of Commerce, Biswanath District Journalists' Union, Chariali Binapani Natya Samaj, Biswanath Chariali Eikya Mancha and Lachit Yuva Sangha said that the simple and easy-going Deputy Commissioner had done enough for the overall development of the newly-formed district during his 10-month tenure and had been able to attract the attention of the common people with positive outlook on leading the district towards prosperity.

The present COVID-19 situation has also been confronted with confidence by him in cooperation with others. The people of Biswanath felt that the Deputy Commissioner needed some time for the development of the district and to make it more prosperous. Therefore, the organizations urged the Chief Minster to take a positive step in this regard for the greater interest of the people of Biswanath district.
