Biswanath: Poetry Circle Commemorating 'Silpi Divas' Held in Biswanath

BISWANATH: Freedom fighter Prasad Singh Subba Smriti Academy organized a commemorative ceremony on the occasion of ‘Silpi Diwas’ in Milanpur. Academy President Chhatraman Subba presided over the function and felicitated influential personalities Rupkonwar Jyoti Prasad Agarwal and freedom fighter Prasad Singh Subba.

The day-long program began with ceremonial lighting of lamps in front of the glorified portrait and floral tributes by social activist Homswaranath and Madan Thapa, general secretary of Asmanepali Sahitya Sabha.

The atmosphere buzzed with the melodious melodies of Jyoti Sangeet composed by Purnima Devi and Rupa Devi together. Prakash Subba, welcomed the participants, while Dr. S.K. Chinta Mani Sharma inaugurated the poetry club as the chief guest.

Chief Guest, Mahakavi Mohan Dukhun, graced the occasion by infusing literary interest in the gathering. Purna Kumar Sarma prepared the stage by giving introductory remarks on renowned writer Mahakavi Mohan Dukhun. The poetry group showcased the talent of various poets like Dr. Chintamani Sharma, Arjun Nirola, Anoop Sarma, Siya Sati, etc., who recited their own poems.

Mahakavi Mohan Dukhun, in his address, shared insights into the literary journey of Indian poetry and emphasized the pivotal role of literary creators in guiding society. The event concluded with a vote of thanks from Anal Rai, and Anjan Baskota, the chief secretary of the academy, skillfully conducted the proceedings of the poetry circle.

The event attracted distinguished guests like Tikamayarai, Usha Subba, Hem Kumar Gautam, Prem Vishwakarma and Bishnudevi, adding to the lively atmosphere of the book festival. The Poetry Club not only showcased the talents of the poets but also served as a platform for appreciation and understanding of the literary arts in the area.
