GUWAHATI: The first convention of the State Cooperative Cell was held at the headquarters of the Bharatiya Janata Party, Assam Pradesh at Basista today, January 2. The state convention was inaugurated by the Organizational General Secretary Phanindra Nath Sarma. The convention started with Bharat Mata Pujan at 10 am and was presided over by Diljit Barman, State Convener of Cooperative Cells.

Inaugurating the "Cooperative Cell Programme", President Bhabesh Kalita urged the younger generation to promote cooperatives in a scientific manner. He said the BJP Assam State Committee is committed to increasing production and creating the right market in the interest of building a self-reliant Assam and the Cooperative Cell has the greatest responsibility in this regard.

The conference was attended by Nandita Garlocha, Minister of Cooperatives, Government of Assam as the Chief Guest. She said that the cooperative sector in Assam needs the cooperation of active, capable and hardworking workers of the BJP. Minister Nandita Garlocha urged the cooperatives to work to create a sales market as production increases and promised to provide all kinds of assistance to the cooperative cells.

The "Samabai Sirkha Geet" was launched by State Spokesperson and Supervisor of Cells Manoj Baruah. The meeting was chaired by State Member Bhram Majumder and the members of Shankardev Organic Agriculture Farm, Sitajakhla Dairy Cooperative Society and Assam Janata Koir Cooperative Society were felicitated. A documentary entitled "Moranga Tribe of Greater Assam" was also released on the occasion. The conveners and co-convener of 40 state BJP organizational districts and hundreds of party workers attended the convention today.

2023's first "Asomiya BJP Barta" was also released by Guwahati MP Queen Oja at the function. She said the newspaper reflects the policies and ideals of the party to the people and carries the development works of the government to the people.

State vice-president Ashok Bhattarai, state vice-president Rekha Rani Das Boro, Office Secretary Sujit Biswas, Convener of the Press Department Dewan Dhruva Jyoti Moral, Editor of BJP Barta Jiten Sarma and several other state-level leaders were present.
