BJP candidate Sushanta Borgohain wins Thowra seat

SIVASAGAR/DEMOW: BJP candidate Sushanta Borgohain won the Thowra Legislative Assembly seat by a margin of 30,561 votes over Raijor Dal candidate Dhaijjya Konwar, the result of which was declared on Tuesday. The counting of votes began at around 8 am amid tight security arrangements following COVID guidelines. Borgohain received 54,956 votes while Konwar received 24,395 votes. The Thowra assembly seat was vacated by the Congress MLA Sushanta Borgohain who later joined the Saffron party.
