BJSM: Court should ascertain ST status of MP Naba Kumar Sarania

Kokrajhar: Bodoland Janajati Suraksha Mancha (BJSM) on Wednesday demanded that the court should ascertain the ST status of Kokrajhar MP Naba Kumar Sarania and asked the MP to give up playing politics over ST status.

The president of the BJSM, Janaklal Basumatary said that there should not be politics in taking action against the false claim made by Kokrajhar MP Naba Kumar Sarania of belonging to the Boro Kachari community in order to get ST certificate. He said Sarania had cheated the certificate issuing authority as well as the courts by claiming to belong to Boro the Kachari community to obtain ST certificate.

Basumatary said no ST certificate could be issued to a person of unknown community like Naba Kumar Sarania . “Since he is not Boro Kachari, he is not Scheduled Tribe. So he cannot play any politics in ST reserved constituency of BTC administration. He is playing ugly O-Boro communal politics against Boro tribal community,” he said.
