BJSM Expresses Concern over Formation of BTAD Army

KOKRAJHAR: Coming down heavily against the formation of BTAD Army under the initiative of Kokrajhar MP Naba Kr. Sarania, the Bodoland Janajati Suraksha Mancha (BJSM) questioned the Government of Assam as to how it could allow the formation of such an organization to fight against a particular tribal community in Assam?

The Mancha has said there could be a simmering tension in BTC ahead of the council election slated to be held next year due to the divisive and communal politics being played by Sarania whose target was only Bodos. In a statement, the working president of the BJSM, DD Narzary said that by forming BTAD Army, Kokrajhar MP Naba Kr. Sarania had openly come out to obliterate the Bodos. He alleged that Sarania was trying to create false propaganda by blaming the Bodos as tyrants of O-Boro people although Sarania himself was representing the reserve ST seat by acquiring fake ST certificate.

Narzary said that Sarania’s fake ST certificate was still being challenged in the Gauhati High Court and the HC had stopped issuing ST certificate to Sarania people as they were not notified ST community. He slammed leaders of BPF, ABSU, UPPL and other organizations for keeping silent on the issue of issuing ST certificate to the non-notified community.
