MANGALDAI: Synchronizing with the countrywide celebration of 75th Independence Day, Crystal Vision, a premier non-government organization of the Darrang district, as a part of their untiring journey since 2012, organized a blood donation programme here on Saturday.

The mobile blood donation programme assisted by State Blood Transfusion Council, Government of Assam, Mangaldai blood bank and the Mangaldai Club was inaugurated by Deputy Commissioner of Darrang, Pranab Kumar Sarmah. In this regard, an awareness meeting anchored by media person Mayukh Goswami was organized at the premises of the Mangaldai Club.

Several prominent persons, including District Development Commissioner Subhalaxmi Deka, chairperson of Mangaldai Municipality Board, Nirmali Devi Sharma, Circle Officer of Mangaldai Revenue Circle, Nayan Jyoti Pathak, media person Bhargab Kumar Das attended the function.

The blood collection vehicle later moved to Ramhari and Industrial Estate, Mangaldai. In the day-long camp, nearly 50 donors, including Circle Officer of Mangaldai Revenue Circle Nayan Jyoti Pathak, members of Crystal Vision, The Mangaldai Club and the staff and officials of North East Nutrients and SRD Nutrients donated their blood.
