KOKRAJHAR: Synchronizing with the celebration of the 4th foundation day of the Bodo Women Writers' Association (BWWA), a poets' meet was also held at IT Park, Elaishijhar, Kokrajhar on Tuesday. The women poets from Kokrajhar, Gossaigaon, Goalpara, Baksa, Chirang, Barpeta and other parts of the districts took part.

As part of the programme, the president of the BWWA, Uttara Bwiswmuthiary hoisted the organizational flag while advisor Bhabani Baglary paid homage to martyrs of Bodo literature. An open meeting was also held where Rashmi Narzary, Sahitya Akademi award winner in the translation of children literature in English in 2016, graced the occasion as the chief guest. She dwelt on the participation of women in enhancing Bodo literature. She also lauded the women writers in the Bodo society for their contribution to Bodo literature and focused on the creation of more women writers. The new executive body of BWWA was also formed on that day with Anju Narzary, associate professor of Kokrajhar Government College, as the president while existing secretary Dhirju Jyoti Basumatary retained the same position.
