Bodoland Journalists’ Association to celebrate National Press Day, Kokrajhar

Kokrajhar: The Bodoland Territorial Council Journalists’ Association, in collaboration with the Baksa district committee and under the sponsorship of Information and Public Relations department of BTC, will celebrate National Press Day at Chowki, Uttarkuchi along the Indo -Bhutan border in Baksa district with a two-day programme on November 15 and November 16.

There will be interactive programmes on the topics ‘Constructive criticism unfastens the eyes of the government towards smooth implementation of policy’, ‘Role of media in forest menace, management and public awareness in conservation of forest and wildlife’ and ‘Journalism ethics and challenges in digital era’, where Chapaguri MLA Thaneswar Basumatary, BTC EM Ansumwi Khunggur Boro and Barama MLA Moneswar Brahma will take in the interaction from the government side.

As part of the programme, on November 15 there will be a get-together of journalists of BTC region followed by annual delegate meeting of the association in the evening which will be inaugurated by local MCLA of BTC, Phalindra Basumatary. Next day the president of BTC Journalist Association, Gautam Jyoti Talukdar will hoist the flag of the association while the vice-president will pay homage followed by the plantation of saplings by Baksa DFO Bhabesh Dad. There will be felicitation programme and release of souvenir by Baksa Superintendent of Police, Binay Kalita while ADC Ratul Pathak will release the mouthpiece of Baksa district BTC Journalists Association. A strong reception committee was formed recently at Uttarkuchi with Satan Kr. Ramchiary as president and Binay Kr. Boro as the secretary.
