Bodoland mountaineers conquered an unnamed peak (6111 MTR) in Himachal Pradesh

Kokrajhar: The pioneer adventure organization of Bodoland, Adventure NGO organized a mountaineering expedition to an unnamed peak (6111 MTR ) in Himachal Pradesh near Baralacha Pass and 6 (six) member team was led by experienced mountaineer Dr Jagadish Basumatary.

Mananjay Daimary president of Adventure NGO Kokrajhar said that the 6 (six) member team was led by experienced mountaineer Dr Jagadish Basumatary. The team left Kokrjhar on 2nd September 2019 and established a base camp near Bharatpur at an altitude of 15600ft on 6th September 2019. After negotiating a long stretch of loose moraine area the teams established summit camp on 8th September 2019 at height of 18,100ft.

He said that on 9th September the team started climbing at around 4.30am and three members reached the summit at 1.30 pm and unfurled the national flag and Adventure NGO flag with Aronai. The team is returning to Manali today. The expedition was organized a pre-Everest selection drive among the climbers and for Adventure it is a part of Bodoland to Mount Everest Mission 2019.

Daimary said that Kokrajhar based Adventure NGO express heartiest thankful to Manash Baruah, secretary of Assam Mountaineering Association and the official of IMF, North East Zone who have contributed all possible effort to make the expedition successful.

He also said that the summitters are Dr. Jagadish Basumatary (Leader), Langwna Basumatary (deputy leader) and Fungka Brahma and the Himachal Pradesh hills trekking would be helpful to our young talented in hill trekkers from the BTC region.
