DOOMDOOMA: Tension prevailed at Daisa TE near here when a body was recovered on Monday. The deceased has been identified as Jiten Tanti, aged around 50 years, of Halkhowa village, Daisa. He was reportedly missing since December 24.

As per reports, his body was found in a drain of Section No. 9 of the Daisa TE with grave injury marks all over the body. When the police of the nearby Talap Police Station arrived there, tension prevailed as the local people gheroed them for alleged neglect and callous attitude after the family members of the deceased had lodged an FIR on December 26. According to the family members and the local people, the police neither inquired into the matter nor even bothered to record the statement of the family members about the incident. The people alleged that Jiten Tanti's life could have been saved if the police had taken prompt action in finding him.
