Bongaigaon election district launches special Android App for new voters

Bongaigaon: Bongaigaon Election District Administration on Friday formally launched an Android App 'Bongaigaon Assembly Election 2021' developed by NIC, Bongaigaon under close supervision of Dr MS Lakshmi Priya, Deputy Commissioner of Bongaigaon, through a video conference on Friday.

Nitin Khade, CEO, Assam formally launched the application in the video conference attended by all District Election Officers related to the upcoming election activities. Talking to media persons, Dr M S Laxmipriya, District Election Officer-cum- Bongaigaon Deputy Commissioner, said that the main objective of the App was to create awareness amongst newly-registered young voters regarding electoral roll process and various other election-related activities.

"The App has been designed to act as a user-friendly single window for surfing various election related features being introduced by ECI in various portals. By using the app, one person will be able to search his/her name in the e-roll, register or correct details in e-roll and apart from that, one will be able to find list of polling stations, Block-level Officers, details of Special Summary Revision-2020, information on all SVEEP related activities. Moreover, there will be the option for launching public grievances and so on," she said.

Dr MS Lakshmi Priya appealed to all voters to download the app and avail the services. By bringing such an application into practice, she expressed her expectation that the app would prove helpful for the new voters to equip themselves with all election related important information and to know the necessary processes and be well prepared for casting their vote for the very first time.
