Bongaigaon Witnesses ‘Fit India Movement, 2019’

Bongaigaon: In order to encourage people of India to inculcate physical activity and sports in their everyday lives and in order to make an appeal to every citizen of India to remain healthy and fit, Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched ‘Fit India Movement’ at a special event at Indira Gandhi Stadium Complex in New Delhi on Thursday to mark the celebration of National Sports Day.

To witness this nationwide launch and to be a part of this celebration of National Sports Day, arrangements were made at State and district levels to view the live telecast of the launching programme followed by ‘ Fitness Pledge’ thereof. On the launching day of Modi’s ‘Fit India Movement’, arrangements were made in Bongaigaon too by Health department, Education department, Zila Parishad and so on at various places for viewing the live telecast of the launching programme aired on Doordarshan from 10 am onwards and the ‘Fitness Pledge’ administered by Prime Minister thereafter.

The launch programme of Prime Minister’s fitness movement has been telecast live in all 36 Health institutions of Bongaigaon district including all 23 HWCs. Everyone took pledge on fitness along with health staff, programme management unit staff and so on. The arrangements were made for students at various schools by the Education department to view the programme live, thus helping them to be a part of this fitness campaign.

In connection with celebration of National Sports Day, district level programme was organised at North Bongaigaon High School and as a part of its various programmes, PM’s launch programme of ‘Fit India Movement’ was telecast live for the students coming from various schools. DC Bongaigaon attended the programme along with ADC Education, Inspector of Schools and took part in the ‘Fitness Pledge’ taking ceremony. Bongaigaon Zila Parishad too made arrangements for viewing of the live telecast of Prime Minister’s inauguration programme of ‘Fit India Movement’ from 10 am at the Zila Parishad Campus, Block Development Offices and all Gaon Panchayat Offices which were attended by Elected PRI members, officials and participants from public.
