GUWAHATI: Border Security Force, Guwahati, observed a plantation drive at Frontier HQ BSF Guwahati campus area on Thursday. Rajesh Kumar, Inspector General Guwahati, Frontier, Border Security Force, started a plantation drive by planting a sapling in Frontier HQ BSF Guwahati campus area, supporting the cause of green planet. During plantation drive all Seema Praharis followed the social distancing norms. A total of 200 saplings of fruit bearing trees were planted by the troops of Frontier HQ, BSF Guwahati. BSF has planned to plant 20,100 saplings during this planting season by Units/ Sector Headquarter of the Guwahati Frontier, stated a press release.

Rajesh Kumar, Inspector General Guwahati, Frontier, Border Security Force, highlighted the environmental issues of afforestation in the present scenario of global warming. He appreciated all for their overwhelming contribution in the plantation drive and re-emphasized the need of realizing the importance of respecting and protecting our forest wealth and the rich flora and fauna for our future generations. The event concluded with the collective resolution of carrying out more such initiatives in future and also ensuring the survivability of the saplings planted during the plantation drive.
