DHUBRI: An exponent of Borgeet of Sankari tradition and a talented musician, Bibekananda Sharma breathed his last at his own residence at Deoripata in Bongaigaon town on Wednesday. He was 64 and leaves behind his wife, two daughters and host of relatives, admirers and well wishers.
A close aide of the Managing Director of Swagat Hospital and Research Centre, Dr. SK Das, while deeply mourning the sudden demise of Bibekananda Sharma, said that he was an honest musician.
Sharma was a music teacher in Delhi Public School (DPS) in Bongaigaon Refinery and after retirement from there, he had continued to nurture Borgeet along with playing his favourite musical instruments.
Dr Atanu Sharma, Dr Mrinalini Rava, Dr. Sneha Sharma, Dr Anjuma Eashmin, and spoke person of Dhubri District Sahitya Sabha, Tilak Prasad, while speaking on Sharma's life and activities on creating music, opined that his death had created a huge void in musical world of Borgeet which can hardly be filled.
