UDALGURI1: Md. Usuf Ali, UPPL vice-president and also the president of the religious minority cell, slammed BPF supremo Hagrama Mohilary for 'not doing anything' for religious minority people in BTC.

Mohilary did not make any EM from the community and even no chairman of the TCLCC board. He considered the minority people only as a vote bank, said Ali. "The religious minority people have decided to vote for UPPL this time. The UPPL party has conceded the demands of the religious minority people and the people will vote for a change," Md. Usuf Ali said.

The UPPL has agreed to include one or two members from the community in BTR constituency demarcation and reformation in land policy. Md. Mahibul Haque, a youth of Ranipukhuri village, said that people would vote for UPPL as they wanted peace and development. The Harisinga constituency people will defeat Tridip Daimari, the BPF candidate, he added.

UPPL Udalguri district president Rabindra Basumatari strongly criticized Gajen Hajowari, the former BAC EM, for rejecting the BTR accord. Basumatari said that Hajowari did nothing for the development of the region during his tenure and he had no right to reject the BTR accord. The meeting was also attended by Liton Daimari, the general secretary of UPPL Udalguri district.
