ORANG: With the Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR) elections expected this September, political heat is rising across the region as parties intensify their outreach. In a significant display of strength, the Bodoland People’s Front (BPF) organized a massive car rally on July 15 in the 39 Pachnoi-Serfang constituencies, from Majbat, under Udalguri district, drawing thousands of enthusiastic supporters.

The rally, spearheaded by senior BPF leader and former BTC Executive Member Shyam Choudhury, began from the Mazbat tea estate and wound through key areas of the constituency. Vehicles decked with party flags, accompanied by chants and cheers, filled the air with political fervour, turning the rally into a vibrant spectacle of solidarity.

Addressing the media during the rally, Choudhury declared, “BPF is fully battle-ready for the upcoming elections. We are just waiting for the official announcement of the poll schedule. This massive public response reflects the deep trust and support we enjoy in Pachnoi-Serfang.”

He further expressed confidence that under the leadership of party Chief Hagrama Mohilary, the BPF would reclaim its stronghold over the BTR. “This rally is not just a political event, it is a message to the people and to our opponents that BPF is regaining momentum across the region,” he added.

The timing of the rally is significant, as political momentum builds up across the BTR ahead of the anticipated polls. The Election Commission is yet to declare dates, but political parties have already entered campaign mode.

With rallies, meetings, and grassroots mobilization gaining pace, the upcoming BTR elections promise to be a decisive chapter in the region’s political journey.
