TANGLA: The deputy speaker of BTC and BPF candidate for Bhergaon BTC constituency, Nerswn Boro have exuded confidence that the Hagrama Mohilary-led Bodoland People’s Front (BPF) will form the government for the fourth consecutive term, winning in more than 32 constituencies out of 40.

Nerswn Boro also lambasted the All Bodo Students’ Union (ABSU) and United People’s Party Liberal (UPPL) alleging that they were misleading the common people of the Bodo belt and wanted to gain political mileage out of the Bodo Accord.

Boro said, “ Bodoland People’s Front (BPF) is synonymous with development, peace and integrity and has been instrumental in developing the road infrastructure, building university, colleges among others in the region ever since the inception of BTC in 2003.

“But after the signing of the Bodo pact on January 27 where BTC supremo Hagrama Mohilary took a leading role in bringing all the factions of NDFB to the negotiation table, the ABSU and UPPL are attempting to gain cheap political mileage by misleading the common people against the ruling dispensation.”

He also reiterated that the Hagrama Mohilary-led BPF was committed for the cause of development in the region along with bringing integrity among the different communities. He further said, “Like the BPF implemented the clauses of the Bodo Accord of 2003, we are determined to implement the clauses of the Bodo pact signed on January 27 and it is not only BPF but even if any other party comes to power in the polls, they are duty bound to implement the pact in letter and spirit.”

Lambasting the Pramod Boro-led UPPL and ABSU, he alleged that they were spreading misinformation among the common people and were misleading the Bodo society.

Hitting out at Pramod Boro he said, “ Pramod Boro gave away the Bodoland movement and signed the pact and said that he will work for the people and has no aspiration to be associated with active politics, but now his power-hungry and greedy nature has been exposed as he is leading UPPL as its president and is contesting in the polls.”

Executive Member of BTC, Lwmshrao Daimari, who is contesting the polls as BPF candidate from Khoirabari constituency, filed his nomination papers at Bhergaon SDO(C) office in Udalguri district on Monday.

Talking to mediapersons, after submission of his nomination, Daimari exuded confidence that BPF would perform well across the 10 BTC constituencies in Udalguri and would form the government for the fourth consecutive term.
