KALAIGAON/TANGLA: Bodoland People's Front (BPF) president Hagrama Mohilary on Thursday said that the BPF would come back to power with absolute majority in BTC. Further, he said that the BPF was the only party which had strong support base from all communities.

Addressing a mass gathering of over 10,000 people at Kalaigaon College playground under Mwdaibari BTC constituency in Udalguri district on Thursday, Mohilary promised voters 'peace, inclusive growth and development' if the ruling BPF is voted back to power. The party also announced a slew of pre-poll sops for every community in the BTC. The development measures included establishment of land registrar office in each of the four district and subdivisional headquarters and land pattas to those residing on government land.

The meeting was organized by Mwdaibari Block BPF in Kalaigaon College playground for Mwdaibari Territorial Constituency BPF candidate JagadishSarkar. Mohilary said that the BJP would not be able to form government in BTC. He lambasted United People's Party Liberal (UPPL) president PramodBoro for inking the 3rd Bodo Accord without taking into consideration the views of stakeholders of non-Bodo communities residing in the Bodo belt.

He further said that the 3rd Bodo Accord only incorporated rights of the Bodo community and asserted that the BPF wanted to settle the people by distributing land pattas to those residing in government land, while the opposition parties wanted to evict those settlers.

Mohilary also said, "HimantaBiswaSarma is trying to create a clash between Bodo and non-Bodo people of BTR. He wants to take political benefit from this clash." Mohilary claimed that the BPF would form the government for the fourth consecutive term and asserted that BPF would secure all the 10 BTC constituency seats of Udalguri district and exhorted the people to vote for the BPF in the forthcoming BTC polls.

The massive election meeting of BPF was attended by State PHE Minister RihonDaimary. He said that the Mohilary-led BPF had never indulged in dirty politics and had always tried to maintain communal harmony in the region. He said that the opposition parties were trying to polarize the society in the name of community and religion to secure votes. He made a fervent appeal to the people not to fall into the trap of such nasty politics. He urged people to vote for Mwdaibari BTC constituency BPF candidate, JagadishSarkar.
