GUWAHATI: In a shocking incident, a BPF worker has, allegedly, uploaded some obscene photos of a married woman on social media that created sensations in the BTR area.

According to reports, the BPF worker passed some intimate moments with a married woman, captured the moments by a mobile camera, and uploaded the photos on social media later. The woman has leveled serious allegations against him after the photos went viral on social media.

Reportedly, Jagat Das, a resident of Roumari gaon, Salbari, Baksha, compelled a married woman to pass some intimate moments with him promising her a job a few days ago. During the moments, he secretly captured several inappropriate photos of the woman and uploaded these on social media. He has also threatened the victim and her family members to keep secret the incident.

Meanwhile, the victim filed a complaint against Das in the Salbari police station. But police are yet to take steps against the accused.

Earlier, a youth has been arrested by the cyber cell of Assam police on the charges of threatening a girl of making her "objectionable" pictures viral on the internet. The girl, who is a resident of Dhekiajuli in Sonitpur district, lodged an FIR with Dhekiajuli police station following which the matter came to light. The complainant said she had received vulgar messages from two unknown phone numbers on Whatsapp on August 15 (Sunday).

Based on the FIR, a case (467/2021) under Section 67 (publishing or transmitting obscene material in electronic form) of the Information Technology Act, 2000 was registered by the police.

An investigation was thereafter launched and a person was detected through the cyber cell. The person was identified as Wahiduz Alom Zaman (son of Mohammed Samsul Alom), a resident of Gotlung village under the Tezpur police station area. Some digital items/evidence were also found from the arrested person's possession. Later, the man was forwarded to a court in Tezpur.
