BSF apprehended four cattle smugglers from border areas of South Salmara, 10 cattle heads recovered

Guwahati: Troops of Border Security Force (BSF) of Guwahati Frontier apprehended 4 Indian cattle smugglers along with 10 cattle heads on May 3, 2019 from bordering areas of Boreralga, District South Salmara (Assam).

Active on a tip-off, a special ambush laid by the BSF troops of Border Out Post Boreralga near International boundary of Indo-Bangladesh border. Alerted troops observed the suspicious movement of some miscreant’s along with cattle towards International Boundary at around 5.20 am, they were challenged.

But the day did not pay any heed and tried to cross IB towards Bangladesh along with cattle. The alerted troops pursued the smugglers and apprehended four of them before they could cross the International Boundary (IB) along with 10 cattle heads.

Apprehended cattle smugglers were identified as (a) Karim Uddin,(19 Yrs), S/o Rahem Ali, R/o Vill- Kokradanga, PS -Kharuabandha, Distt- South Salamara (Assam), (b) Rijauk Karim, (20 Yrs), S/o Md Rasul, R/o Vill- Dewaneralga, PS -Sukhchar, Distt-South Salamara (Assam), (c) Hanif Sheikh,(20 Yrs), S/o Sahajan Sheikh, R/o Vill- Dewaneralg, PS –Sukhchar, Distt-South Salamara (Assam) and (d) Asmot Mullah,(19 Yrs), S/o Ardash Ali, R/o Vill Dewaneralga, PS -Sukhchar, Distt- South Salamara (Assam). Later, they have been handed over to PS Kharuabandha for further legal action.

BSF troops are working around the Clock to secure the border and prevent trans-border crimes and illegal infiltration. They apprehended the miscreants due to their alertness and are making all endeavours to contain such trans-border crimes from the border.
