BSF Frontier HQ, Guwahati organizes Diwali Mela

GUWAHATI: A Diwali Mela was organized with great enthusiasm and zeal at BSF Frontier HQ, Guwahati Patgaon Campus on Wednesday. The programme was inaugurated by Piyush Mordia, IPS, Inspector General, BSF Frontier HQ Guwahati. The Mela with all its fervour of merriments had all the jollities for the Seema Praharies and for their family, children and other invitees, stated a press release.

The mela with different shades of the festival of light hosted myriads stalls of food stuff and games showcasing variety of products for all. The special attraction of the mela were crowd-engaging events like – various competitions for children, ladies and couples, BSF Brass and Jazz Band, games, food courts and attractive prizes.

This is an distinctive kind of mela which is organised by BSF each year on Diwali occasion. Both the BSF Brass and Jazz Band enthralled the crowd with their foot tapping music and soulful classical renditions that charged the air all through the programme. The mela culminated with the best wishes extended by the Inspector General to troops and their families besides civil gathering and wished happiness and prosperity for their future endeavour. He also conveyed his special Diwali wishes to those BSF Jawans who are performing their duties diligently round the clock as the sentinels of International Border.
