BSF, Guwahati seizes fake currency notes in South Salmara district

GUWAHATI: Troops of Guwahati Frontier of Border Security Force apprehended one Indian FICN racketeer along with 30 thousand FICN (Fake Indian Currency Notes) on Thursday, from bordering areas of Boreralga in South Salmara district.

Acting on a tip-off, on Thursday, troops of BOP Boreralga of 6 Bn BSF under BSF Guwahati Frontier carried out a joint search operation with Kharuabandha Police in the house of Jahirul Islam, (30 years), son of Md Abdul Kedar, resident of Kaliralga Part-1 Sishumarachar in South Salmara district. During the search operation, suspected FICN of Rs 30,000 was recovered. The FICN racketeer was handed over to Kharuabandha Police Station of South Salmara district for further actions, stated a press release.
