BSF under Guwahati Frontier arrests cattle smuggler

GUWAHATI: The troops of Border Security Force under Guwahati Frontier apprehended one cattle smuggler along with cattle from Azampara village under the Cooch Behar district of West Bengal on Sunday. The cattle were being smuggled from India to Bangladesh.

Apprehended cattle smuggler has been identified as Hafizur Sheikh (24).

Besides this, vigilant SeemaPraharis of BSF also rescued 40 cattle heads in various other operations from bordering areas of Cooch Behar , Dhubri and South Salmara district of Assam while the same were being smuggled from India to Bangladesh.

Apprehended cattle smuggler along with the seized cattle has been handed over to Tufanganj Police Station of West Bengal for further legal action, stated a release.
