KOKRAJHAR: Chief Executive Member (CEM) of BTC Pramod Boro on Tuesday hailed the Union Minister of State for External Affairs Pabitra Margherita for promoting the traditional Bodo Aronai at the global stage and said that he has done a great job for the indigenous community of Assam by elaborating the hand-woven traditional scarf of the state.
In his official site, Boro said that it was truly inspiring to see the young and dynamic Union Minister of State for External Affairs from India Pabitra Margherita, who was proudly promoting the icons of Bodo and Assamese culture on the global stage. He said that during his recent visit to the Philippines, the Republic of Palau, and the Federated States of Micronesia, Margherita not only strengthened India’s diplomatic ties but also carried with him ‘Bodo Aronai’, the pride of the Bodo people and the iconic Assamese Gamusa. His engagements, including meetings with the Governor of Peleliu State in the Republic of Palau and the Foreign Minister of the Marshall Islands, reflected India’s commitment to fostering meaningful relationships while celebrating its indigenous traditions, he added.
“This is a matter of immense pride as our indigenous culture takes centre-stage on the world platform. Such initiatives not only foster the promotion of our traditions and heritage globally but also provide recognition and livelihood opportunities to the artisans who are the true custodians of these traditions,” Boro said.
