BTC chief Pramod Boro inaugurates PWD office building in Udalguri district

KOKRAJHAR: The newly-constructed office building of Executive Engineer, PWD (Road), Udalguri was ceremonially inaugurated by the CEM of Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC), Pramod Boro in presence of deputy chief Gabinda Chandra Basumatary and EM Dr. Nilut Swargiary.

The three-storey building constructed under the fund of SOPD at the cost of Rs 3,77,82,446 lakh for the financial year 2018-19 has canteen and conference room in the ground floor. On the same day, the CEM of BTC laid the foundation stone of construction of Grade III & IV staff of Executive Engineer of PWD, Udalguri district.

Chief of BTC, Pramod Boro in his speech at the gathering said that the maintenance of the building and keeping it neat and clean should be the responsibility of staff and the public of this area. He said that the new building would help the department to carry out their works in a proper manner. He also said the council would lay emphasis on the need for infrastructure of all departments.

After attending the inaugural programme of PWD, Boro moved to Rakhel Namghar, Udalguri district and interacted with Xatradhikars of the namghar. Again he distributed driving licenses to the driving learners of the Mayuri Driving Training Centre and also distributed mobile handsets to the gaonbura at Bishnurabha Kristi Sangha of Udalguri district. He also paid a surprise visit at DTO and office of Circle Officer, Udalguri.

On the way to Dimakuchi in Udalguri district, he visited Sekhar Sankardev Mission HS School of Dimakuchi. Apart from these, he visited three the families of Kagen Boro, Jira Boro and Rakesh Boro and donated some important household items to the family at village Dimakuchi. He also chaired a meeting with BDO, Engineers, Block VCDC members, chairman of Block deployment office of Bhergaon, Udalguri in presence of Deputy CM, EM, Daobaisa Boro. The CEM of BTC also attended and interacted with BDO, Engineers, Block VCDC members and chairman of the block development office of Tamulpur block in Baksa district which was held at Tamulpur HS School's auditorium on the same day.
