BTC chief Pramod Boro reviews shortcomings in education department

KOKRAJHAR: Chief Executive Member of BTC, Pramod Boro on Wednesday held a meeting exclusively with the higher officers of the education department and reviewed the shortcomings of the department.

The Secretary, Education, BTC, Amarjyoti Barman, Director of Education Jagadish Prasad Brahma and all IS, DEEO and other higher officials were present in the meeting where various problems of the department was widely discussed.

The CEM of BTC, Pramod Boro asked the department concerned to stop all corrupt practices. He called upon the officers to identify the schools which lacked basic infrastructure and other amenities like good classrooms, benches, desks, drinking water and electricity, and submit the status report very soon. He also said that many schools had no garden in the school compound and called upon the authority concerned to create a garden in their respective schools. He also directed the officers concerned to release the retirement benefits of teachers without any delay.

Taking a strong note on inactive teachers, Boro said the Director of Education would collect the list of such inactive teachers and the government would transfer them immediately after getting the report. The meeting also discussed the rationalization of teachers and said that the government would take necessary action to fill up the vacant posts.
