BAKSA: Government nominee BTC MCLA and prominent social activist Hemant Kumar Rabha from Tamulpur came forward to donate blood for a child suffering from a disease at Barkhata village of Tamulpur subdivision in the district of Baksa.

The three-year-old girl of Partha Sarathi Das — a resident of Barkhata Village in Tamulpur Subdivision, has been suffering from an incurable disease for the past few months.

By working as a daily-wage labourer in a shop, Partha raised his family. He somehow met the expenses of his child's primary treatment. However, he lost all his properties in the process.

Doctors advised that the child should be taken to Bengaluru for her bonemarrow transplant.

BTC MCLA Hemant Kumar Rabha came to know about the child's illness and contacted Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sharma and informed him about the child's illness. As a result, the family received Rs 25,000 from the Chief Minister's Assistance Fund.

MCLA Hemant Kumar Rabha reached the child's residence early this morning and provided the cheque of Rs 25,000 from the Chief Minister's assistance fund. The MCLA also promised to donate the blood of the "O" positive group required for the child.

MCLA Rabha said to media, "The family will get all help so that the child can get better treatment. I also pray for the early recovery of the child."

The family and the people of the area have highly appreciated such a greatness of Hemant Kumar Rava.
