KOKRAJHAR: The chief of BTR, Pramod Boro on Thursday laid the foundation stone for construction of roads at Mwiderkhoro and Habrubari in Kokrajhar town in presence of his EM colleagues.

Boro laid the foundation of construction and widening of road from RN Brahma Road to JD Road via Mwiderkhoro and Habrubari-Gendrabilw Road under goodwill projects of the Government of Assam. The two roads were in dilapidated conditions since long.

Meanwhile, Boro also attended a programme jointly organized by Kokrajhar Municipal Board (KMB) and NTPC at Municipal office premises and distributed over 2,000 bamboo dustbins to keep Kokrajhar clean and green. He appealed to all citizens to keep Kokrajhar clean and green.

Pramod Boro, in last two months has made sincere endeavours to uplift the overall socio-economic condition in the region, especially of the poor and marginalized. In its first Executive Council meeting itself, the BTR government had taken a historic decision to provide land title to the landless and so far 17,500 families have been given land patta. Through an amendment of the VCDC guidelines, the promise made during the election campaign was fulfilled by giving 33 per cent reservation to women. Relentless efforts have been made in the last two months to bring revolutionary change in health, education, employment and all sectors of socio-economic development.

Talking to reporters, Boro said with the purpose to provide relief to the poor, ensure equitable distribution of public wealth and expedite the process of sustainable development, his government had launched 'Onsungthai' to provide financial assistance to the ailing, elderly, poor disabled and meritorious students from poor socio-economic background.

He said that 100 e-rickshaws to unemployed youths under Bodoland Swaniyojon Yojna, Rs 30,000 to SHGs under Bodoland Swaniyojon Yojna, Rs 1,00,000 for promoting Bio-Flock Fisheries Bodoland Swaniyojon Yojna, Bodoland Ansai Yojna to provide Rs. 10,000 to riot victim families, Bodoland Atma Nirbhar Yojna to provide 400 chairs and 1 mike set to each of the VCDCs, Bodoland Gwrib Kalyan Yojna to provide Rs. 10,000 to rickshaw/Thela Pullers/Daily Wage Earners, Layer Farms with Rs. 100,000 to each of the VCDCs, Bodoland Yuva Vikash Yojna to provide sports gears to the sports clubs, Bodoland Swaniyojan Yojna to provide Rs. 10,000 each to the returnee migrants during the COVID-19 imposed nationwide lockdown, Bodoland Sanswrang Bithanki to provide solar lights to all VCDCs, Bodoland Fwnangjab Bithanki to provide mobile handsets to all registered gaon buras and Village Organizations, Bodoland Gram Prashari Yojna to provide financial assistance to all village defense parties and Bodoland Vikash Yojna to provide financial assistance for various skill development programmes.

Boro said that school bags to all the government school students from Class-I to Class VIII and bicycle for all the government school students from Class IX to Class XII would also be given.
