KOKRAJHAR: In a continued effort to deepen community engagement and foster cultural preservation, the Government of BTR organized a special interaction programme with community representatives, along with a multiple-book distribution programme under the Bodoland Happiness Mission (BHM).

On its third day, the programme was held at the BTCLA auditorium hall, drawing wide participation and appreciation from community representatives across BTR. The four-day programme, which began on August 2 and will conclude on August 5, follows the landmark Vision Document initiative and the launch of several key publications at Srimanta Sankardev Kalakshetra on July 6. The programme showcases a series of significant publications that reflect the BTR Government’s inclusive developmental vision. These include BTR Communication Bridge - A Practical Resource, a multilingual book featuring 18 regional languages, Transforming Bodoland, the annual report of the Bodoland Happiness Mission, and Looking Within-My Reflections, authored by the Chief Executive Member (HCEM) of BTR, Pramod Boro.

The interactive session which was presided over by the Speaker of BTCLA, and Chairperson of the Vision Document Committee and also advisor to the Bodoland Happiness Mission, Katiram Boro, was joined by former Executive Member and MCLA of Zamduar constituency, Reo Reoa Nazrihary. The sessions focused on listening to the voices of BTR’s 26 diverse communities and discussing the range of initiatives introduced after the release of the Vision Document. Key highlights of the initiatives shared include the national seminar on Language, Literature, and Culture held in New Delhi, jointly organized by the Gandhi Hindustani Sahitya Sabha and the Bodo Study Centre, the community museum initiative dedicated to all 26 indigenous communities of BTR, declaration of restricted holidays for each community on culturally significant days, release of a multilingual resource book with 1001 words and 1001 sentences in 18 regional languages, and the Bodoland Lifetime Achievement Award 2025, recognizing outstanding contributions to folk culture and folk dance. In addition, the BTR Government introduced its forthcoming initiative-an Ethnography Research Project aimed at documenting the cultural, historical, and origin narratives of the region’s communities.

Community leaders and participants expressed gratitude to the BTR Government for its inclusive approach, tangible actions, and strong commitment to preserving the identity and heritage of each community.
