Burmese Python rescued by forest staff and Green Guard Nature Organization in Numaligarh

Numaligarh: A Burmese Python measuring nearly 14.5 feet was rescued by a joint team of forest staff and Green Guard Nature Organization members after the gigantic reptile was reported to have been captured by labourers of Rekapahar Tea Garden near Salonah, Nagaon. The forest personnel did a commendable job controlling the crowd while others in the rescue team untied the python which had been tied-up with a rope. The python weighed around 32 kg and might be the largest ever found in the region, according to forest staff and Green Guard Nature Organization rescue specialist Binod ‘Dulu’ Borah. After struggling for over an hour to control the reptile, the team led by Dulu, along with Forester Pranab Borah, Sarat Hazarika, Raju Borah and Meghna Mayur Hazarika, were finally able to safely relocate the python and release it back to its natural habitat near Karbi Anglong-Nagaon border area.
