Businessman Couple of Kokrajhar donates Rs 5 lakh to CM’s Relief Fund

KOKRAJHAR: In a goodwill gesture towards the relentless efforts of the Assam Government to fight the dreaded coronavirus pandemic, a businessman couple of Kokrajhar came forward to donate Rs. 5 lakh to the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund on Saturday.

Sudhang Kumar Brahma and his wife Jaya Rani Brahma have contributed Rs 3 lakh and Rs 2 lakh respectively. “In this grave hour of crisis when the entire nation is in lockdown, every person, social worker and political leaders must come forward to extended a helping hand to the poor and needy”, said Sudhang Kumar Brahma.

Wife of Sudhang, Jaya Rani Brahma said, “As a humble citizen of the State, I consider it as my personal duty and responsibility to extend all support for the cause of the poor and downtrodden class of people and offered my help to the labourers of my industry and extend Rs 2 lakh to the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund as the coronavirus pandemic has emerged as a global challenge for every major nation.” The couple has also exhorted the Assam Government to help the thousands of youths of Assam and the Bodo belt who are stranded in various South Indian States.
