CAA is against indigenous people, says former MP Sansuma Khunggur Bwiswmuthiary

KOKRAJHAR: Sansuma Khunggur Bwiswmuthiary, former MP (Lok Sabha), president of the World Bodo National Confederation and the World Confederation of the Mongoloid Origin People (WBNC and WCMOP), said that the Citizenship (Amendment) Act, 2019 would pose threat to the existence of the indigenous people of the State as it would give more opportunity to foreigners to grab all benefits of the indigenous people of the State.

He said that the people of the State wanted the solution of all vital issues but not an Act like CAA. He also said that the Government of India should address the decades-long problems of the indigenous people instead of bringing an ‘anti-indigenous people’ Act.

Bwiswmuthiary called upon the Mongoloid origin people to stand united and work together with renewed indomitable zeal and spirit to achieve the long-cherished common political goal of a separate state of Bodoland. He said that CAA was like an atom bomb for the people of the State of Assam and implementation of this Act would pose a serious threat to the indigenous people of the State where immigration was a serious issue.
