KOKRAJHAR: The 12-hour Assam bandh call given by the All Koch Rajbongshi Students’ Union (AKRSU) Arun Ray faction demanding separate Kamatapur state and ST status for Rajbongshis, passed off peacefully with mixed response in Kokrajhar district on Monday. The AKRSU and Koch Rajbongshi Sanmilani also supported the bandh called given by the Moran-Motok Students’ Union against CAB.

During the bandh, offices had poor attendance but many shops and business establishments remained opened. Other than long-distance vehicles, private vehicles were seen plying on the road in Kokrajhar. No untoward incident was reported from any part of the district.
