Cancer Awareness Programme Held in Dhakuakhana

LAKHIMPUR: A pioneer non-governmental organization (NGO) of the State, Sahajog Asom organized a crucial awareness programme on cancer in Dhakuakhana. The awareness programme was held at the Konwargaon Ideal Mission School premises under the management of the NGO co-ordinator, Purabi Baruah.

Senior Medical Officer and physician of North Lakhimpur Civil Hospital, Dr. Hemanta Kumar Dutta graced the occasion as the resource person who delivered a sensitizing speech on the fatal disease on a topic ‘God, Cancer and Life’. In his speech, he highlighted the various aspects of health awareness on the basis of Indian civilization and culture since the Vedic era to present scientific development. He appealed to people to keep themselves away from all kinds of tobacco products and narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances.

Dhakuakhana subdivision Assistant Commissioner Kulbhusan Pegu, Dhakuakhana College Associate Professor Indibor Buragohain, retired teacher Dulal Baruah, Ideal Mission School Principal Pranay Sarmah and journalist Paranjyoti Borah also spoke on the occasion. Inu Sarmah of Sahajog Asom recited a poem.
