GAURISAGAR: Keeping aside her sufferings, cancer patient Niharika Hatibaruah, a student of Neelakshi Memorial Academy (Senior Secondary School) located at Samaguri on the outskirts of Amguri town in Sivasagar district, showed good performance in the recently declared HS (Arts) exam by securing first division with star marks and 79 per cent.
Niharika got letter marks in Assamese (80), Geography (80), Sociology (85) and Political Science (84). She is the daughter of Promode Hatibaruah and Deepamoni Hatibaruah of Dikshu Sumadr village in Sivasagar district. Born in 2000 in a lower middle-class family, Niharika has been suffering from cancer since 2013. She was admitted in Gauhati Medical College and Hospital and B Barooah Cancer Institute. In 2015, a complex operation was done and her life was saved.
Niharika is a girl with a strong will power and ambition. Keeping aside all her pain and sufferings, in 2017 she passed the HSLC examination in second division from Dikshu High School. Later, she got admission in Neelakshi Memorial Academy, Samaguri. The teachers and staff of Neelakshi Memorial Academy and well-wishers have congratulated Niharika for her remarkable achievement. Niharika will take admission in a degree course in Sivasagar College with Political Science as Major subject.
