Cancer detection, awareness camp held at Satanguri ME School in Morigaon

MORIGAON: Under the aegis of the NGO Pathik and supported by the North-East Literary and Cultural Association, a cancer detection, awareness, and free health check-up camp was organized on Saturday at Satanguri ME School.

A team of seven members led by Dr. Gitartha Ray Medhi of the North-East Cancer Hospital detected five cancer patients in the camp and they have been sent for free treatment in the hospital under the initiative of the NGO Pathik. Besides, the organization organized a cancer awareness camp in the school premises where Rajlaxmi Rajashree and Victor Rajkumar spoke on the use of napkins during menstruation. In the health camp, altogether 300 people got themselves checked. The organization also created awareness about the newly-launched project ‘Shreemoyee’ and how needy women could benefit from this project.
