Candidates’ list declared for Lakhimpur district Xahitya Xabha election

LAKHIMPUR: The candidate list for the election of the posts of president, vice-president and secretary of the Lakhimpur District Xahitya Xabha 2020-2022 session was declared on Wednesday. As per a press communiqué issued by chief election officer Hamidur Rahman, election officers Khirod Kakati and Satyajit Dutta, a total of four persons submitted their nomination for the election of three posts - president, vice president and secretary respectively.

Out of them, Bipul Sarmah Baruah and Chandra Hazarika filed their nominations for the contest of president post while Guna Bhuya submitted his nomination for vice-president. On the other hand, Naba Kamal Borah filed his nomination for the secretary post. The submitted four nominations were found valid. As only one candidate filed nomination for the post of vice-president and secretary post each, no election will be held for these two posts. On the other hand, election will be held for the post of president as two candidates filed their nomination for the contest of this post and their nominations were found valid.
