Capacity-building training on scientific poultry rearing and management concludes in Haflong

HAFLONG: The Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Dima Hasao concluded a three-day (March 3-March 5, 2022) capacity building-cum-skill training programme for poultry farmers at Skill Development Centre, Haflong, which was sponsored by ICAR, New Delhi and funded by the Ministry of Fisheries, Dairy and Animal Husbandry, Government of India.

The programme was conducted under the theme 'Scientific rearing of poultry and duck for income generation of rural people' under the Course Director, Dr. Nakambam Manoranjan Singh, Programme Assistant (Veterinary), and other dignitaries with an objective to provide technical and scientific knowledge of need-based skill training to tribal poultry farmers.

The programme was attended by 40 tribal poultry farmers hailing from Sampari Disa, Lodi village under Harangajao block and Borowapu village under Mahur block of Dima Hasao district. Dr. N Manoranjan Singh, Programme Assistant (Veterinary), Animal Science highlighted the role and importance of proper scientific feeding, improved breed (poultry and duck), housing system and timely vaccination for productivity, profitable and sustainability under backyard tribal poultry production system.
