Cash seized from various places in Dhubri district

DHUBRI: Around Rs 1,85,500 was seized from a two-wheeler at Sataguri NH-31, Panbari by ASI Sofiul Alam Azad under officer in-charge, Shanta Karki Chetri, Dhubri Assistant Commissioner. Also, Rs 2,42 , 000 was seized at Sataguri, NH-31, Panbari , from a two-wheeler by ASI Sofiul Alam Azar under officer in-charge Shanta Karki Chetri , Assistant Commissioner.

The vehicles have been kept under police custody. Both cases will be taken up by the Release of Cash committee. Around Rs 19, 99,000 was seized at Balajan, Dumordaha by a Flying Squad team led by Sourav Barman and ASI Prodip Roy under officer in-charge Shanta Karki Chetri.

The cash seized has already been forwarded to the Income Tax department for necessary action. As per latest information, the IT Department has given clearance to the seized cash, stated Dhubri Information and Public Relation Officer, Partha Pratim Barman, in a press release.
