Centenary celebration of Gayan Gaon Dighaliahula Bar Naam Ghar in Demow

DEMOW: The centenary celebration of Gayan Gaon Dighaliahula Bar Naam Ghar near Demow started from Friday with a three-day-long programme. On Friday morning, the ukha kirtan was organized and after that Smriti tarpan was offered by Tarun Saikia, working president of the organizing committee of the centenary celebration programme, which was followed by plantation of saplings along with different programmes.

On the same day in the afternoon, the Xattriya dance competition was held in two categories and the competitors came from various places. In the evening, people lit earthen lamps in front of their houses and after that, the rituals were done in the Naam Ghar and then bhaona was performed by the invited artists. On Saturday, naam prasanga was done and in the afternoon the female Diha Naam competition was held. Bhaona was also performed.
