KOKRAJHAR: National Technology Day was celebrated at the Central Institute of Technology, Kokrajhar (CITK) with great enthusiasm and fervour on Saturday. The day was dedicated to honoring the technological advancements made by Indian scientists, engineers, and technologists in the country. The event was graced by the august presence of the Chief Executive Member (CEM) of BTC, Pramod Boro, MLA Lawrence Islary, Dr. Sunil Kaul, and Prof Hemanta Kumar Kalita, Director of CITK.
The delegates were welcomed by the Director, Registrar, Deans, faculty members and students of CITK. The students showcased their innovative projects, research, and lab activities. The visitors interacted with the students and faculty members to learn more about their work, and to encourage them to pursue their passion for technology.
CEM Pramod Boro announced that CITK will be aligned with the Department of Science and Technology to groom their innovation and technological interventions. He appreciated the efforts of CITK in promoting innovation and entrepreneurship among the students. The students of the department of Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) presented their project Arogychain, which uses Blockchain technology to address the issues in the healthcare system of Assam and India, especially issues related to the electronic health record system. The students showcased their work on the development of a low-cost Edge intelligence-based system to detect overspeeding and also to detect hate speech in Assamese language using AI.
