Central team reviews development projects in Dhubri

DHUBRI, July 14: A Central Government team headed by Additional Secretary of Trade and Industry, Atul Chaturvedi held meeting with Dhubri Deputy Commissioner Anant Lal Gyani and high officials of Dhubri district and reviewed the development works at the DC conference hall on Thursday.

Chaturvedi was appointed as prabhari (in-charge) of Dhubri district to look after the Government of India’s flagship projects as Dhubri district is one of the 116 backward districts in the country, bracketed as a high priority district.

After hearing the appraisal and progress reports of works from the district-level high officials of each and every department, Chaturvedi instructed the officials to expedite the works and complete them within the stipulated time.

“You will have to focus on the ongoing works and adopt new approaches and monitor the works constantly to complete them within the time frame so that people can get the benefits as early as possible,” Chaturvedi told the officials.

Chaturvedi also visited many work sites of the projects on Thursday accompanied by high officials, including Director of North East Council (NEC) and Nodal Officer of Gram Swaraj Abhiyan, VLR Kulla and took stock of the progress and instructed the officials to get the works completed on a war footing. Charturvedi will also visit more protect sites in Dhubri district within a couple of days, Dhubri District Information and Public Relation Officer, Bikash Sarma informed.
