Centre of Indian Trade Unions (CITU) observes Demand Day

DOOMDOOMA: The Centre of Indian Trade Unions (CITU) observed Demand Day all over Assam with demands like providing security to workers willing to return to Assam from other States, to bear railway fares for return journey of such workers by the government, and to pay compensation of Rs 10 lakh to the next of the kin of such workers if they die during their journey back home.

In Doomdooma also this Demand Day was observed by the CITU workers at Kaliapani Chariali from 11 am on Monday by shouting slogans and displaying placards for half an hour. Altogether 15 members belonging to different CITU affiliated organizations took part in the programme by strictly obeying lockdown rules and maintaining social distancing.
