Chatiya Press Club in Biswanath district distributes ration and masks

Biswanath Chariali: In the present scenario of COVID-19, Chatiya Press Club in Biswanath district distributed around 150 packets of ration on Tuesday among the needy and poor people.

The ration was distributed in the villages of Barbhuyan gaon, Nagayan Baruahchuk, Charaijania, Gereki, Udaypur, Ghatowal, Nalbari and Bhakatgaon. Each packet of the ration contained essential commodities like rice, dal, mustard oil, potato, onion, biscuit, soap and salt. Chatiya Press Club president Pranav Ojah, secretary Hemanga Hazarika, members Ratul Bhuyan, Ananda Handique, Sourabh Hazarika, Anjan Saikia, Sahidul Islam, Pawan Joshi, Uttam Nath and Tridip Bhuyan participated in the distribution programme. The business community of Chatiya offered help to the scribes’ body in this endeavour. The club members also created awareness among the common people in the villages.

On the other hand, the Biswanath district unit of Assam Press Correspondents’ Union (APCU) distributed around 500 three-layer masks on Tuesday among the police personals working in several police stations of the district in association with newspaper distributor, Papu Refiels of Biswanath Chariali. Additional Superintendent of Police, Biswanath, Saurabh Jyoti Saikia inaugurated the programme.
