PATHSALA: Cheques worth Rs 8 lakh were distributed under the Chief Minister's Relief Fund for medical treatment among 80 patients in Azad Bhavan, Pathsala under Patacharkuchi constituency. The financial assistance was provided by the Assam Government to those who belong to the economically weaker section of the society, suffer from various ailments and need money for their treatment. Minister Ranjeet Kumar Dass ceremonially distributed the cheques among the beneficiaries concerned.
Addressing them, he stated that the Assam Government was working to bring light in the lives of the poor and middle classes. Fund was being provided to enable the poor to get proper health care. Dass said, "With a view to mitigate the hardship of those patients who are undergoing treatment in various hospitals, the State Government has decided to provide financial relief to the patients from the Chief Minister's Relief Fund. Today I distributed cheques among 80 people. I hope this will help people."
