Nagaon:  Assam's chief minister, Himanta Biswa Sarma inaugurated a park called "Amrit Kanan" in Nagaon district of Assam, which is built by the Nagaon Municipality Board to commemorate 75 years of India's Independence.

The Amrit Park has been developed beside the Circuit House, where statues of notable people will be erected in their honour. The park has been rebuilt with statues of Nagaon freedom fighters like Mahendra Nath Hazarika, Haladar Bhuyan, Debakanta Baruah, and Purna Kanta Sarma.

In addition, in the "Amrit Kanan," new statues of Bharat Ratna Bhupen Hazarika, Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi, Anandaram Dhekiyal Phukan, Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose, and Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru have been erected.

The Chief Minister took the initiative of displaying well-known national and state leaders for children and youngsters to see so that they might become familiar with India's Heroes. The park also has a garden area, seating areas, and attractive lighting to greet visitors.CM Sarma also dedicated a new bridge at Anandaram Dhekiyal Phukan Setu after opening the park.

Recently The Assam government inaugurated a newly constructed park in Guwahati in the honor of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee on Friday, a day before the 97th birthday of modern India's tallest leader.  Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma inaugurated Atal Udyan, a park created at a cost of Rs 8.74 crore by the Guwahati Metropolitan Development Authority (GMDA) in the Adabari region of the capital city of Assam.

The park features a 250-seat amphitheatre, a meditation hall, an open-air gym, children's play equipment, mural artwork with dais, and more, and it is dedicated to former Prime Minister 'Bharat Ratna' Atal Bihari Vajpayee.
